Portfolio Program | Fine Art
7th-12th
Portfolio Academic Drawing Foundation: Still Life, Portrait & Perspective; Research Portfolio & Design Portfolio
Grades: 7th-12th (Ages: 12-18)
This course introduces students in grades 7–12 to the fundamental skills of academic drawing with a focus on building a strong portfolio foundation. Students will study still life, portrait drawing, and perspective through observational practice and structured exercises.
Portfolio Painting Foundations: Color, Composition & Representation; Research Portfolio & Design Portfolio
Grades: 7th-12th (Ages: 12-18)
This course introduces students in grades 7–12 to the foundational principles of academic painting with a focus on portfolio development. Students will explore color theory, composition, and representational painting through guided projects and observational studies.
Portfolio 3D Foundation: Experimental Mix Media & Installation Art; Research Portfolio & Design Portfolio
Grades: 7th-12th (Ages: 12-18)
This course introduces students in grades 7–12 to the fundamentals of three-dimensional art through experimental mixed media and installation projects. Students will explore material experimentation, spatial design, and conceptual thinking while creating sculptural and site-based works.

This course guides students in creating artwork for regional and national art competitions. Students will develop original pieces that meet competition themes and requirements, focusing on idea development, technical skills, craftsmanship, and presentation.
Portfolio Program | Digital Art & Design
7th-12th
Portfolio Digital Design & Software Foundation: 2D& 3D
Grades: 7th-12th (Ages: 12-18)
This course aims to train students in the fundamentals of digital art, including design principles, composition, and color theory. Students will work on open-ended prompts that encourage personal identity development and help build the foundation for their portfolio.
Digital Art Portfolio Foundation, Competition; Research Portfolio & Design Portfolio
Grades: 9th-12th (Ages: 14-18)
This class focuses on more complex and specialized topics, including digital installation, animation, concept art, illustration, environment and landscape design, 3D design, digital painting, self-expression, and photogrammetry.
Design Exploration | Industrial Design
Grades: 9th-12th (Ages: 14-18)
This course introduces students to creative design and fabrication through hands-on digital modeling, 3D printing, and hand crafting. Across six units covering personal identity, sustainable mobility, game systems, handheld devices, modular structures, and biomimetic robotics, students will master end to end design workflows and material assembly.
Design Exploration | Architecture Design
Grades: 9th-12th (Ages: 14-18)
This course introduces students to spatial design, structural logic, and architectural representation through hands-on drafting, digital modeling, and physical model making. Across six focused projects covering ancient labyrinths, extreme climate igloos, endless infinity concepts, map cartography, structural archways, and atmospheric light studies, students will master two-dimensional design sheets, digital fabrication, and mixed media hand crafting.
Design Exploration | Interaction Design
Grades: 9th-12th (Ages: 14-18)
This course introduces students to user centered design, digital product architecture, and rapid physical and digital prototyping. Across six hands on projects covering spatial school mapping, environmental restoration, community volunteering, support tools for vulnerable populations, high end design systems modeled on industry leaders like Tesla and Apple, and memory augmented products, students will learn to turn human needs into intuitive digital interfaces and interactive physical prototypes.
Design Exploration | Game Art & Entertainment Design
Grades: 9th-12th (Ages: 14-18)
This course introduces students to world building, character creation, and digital asset development for the entertainment industry. Across six fantasy and speculative projects covering creature design, deep sea wizards, mythical owl bears, haunted graveyards, ancient ruins, and infinite library environments, students will transform imaginative concepts into high quality digital assets.

Intense Visual Art Training 1 (OCSA Prep) ​
Grades: 3rd-5th (Ages: 8-11)
This class focuses on deepening students’ understanding of drawing, shape, design, color theory, value, and attention to detail. Students will engage in skill-building exercises and projects that support and expand their abilities both before and after working on their OCSA assignments.

Ceramics Program
Kinder-12th
Grades: 7th-12th, Adults (Ages: 12-18)
This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the art of ceramics, suitable for students of all skill levels. Whether you are working with clay for the first time or looking to refine existing techniques, this class guides you through handbuilding and wheel throwing to create functional and decorative pottery.
Ceramics & Wheel Throwing
Grades: 3rd-6th (Ages: 8-12)
This class provides an exciting opportunity for students in 3rd to 6th grade to explore the world of ceramics with a focus on both creative expression and technical skill. Students will learn fundamental ceramic techniques, including handbuilding and glazing.
Fine Art
Pre-K-12th
Grades: 6th-12th, Adults (Ages: 12+)
The course also covers figure construction with a focus on proportions, and includes a 3-week charcoal figure drawing study. Students will apply these techniques in live model drawing sessions, utilizing traditional materials such as vine charcoal for rapid sketches, thereby enhancing both their observational and drawing abilities.
Core Painting Techniques
Grades: 5th-8th (Ages: 10-14)
Core Painting Techniques helps students develop fundamental painting skills and visual decision-making across a variety of mediums. Students practice controlling brushwork, mixing and layering color, and translating ideas into strong painted compositions.
Narrative Concept Series & Triptych
Grades: 3rd-6th (Ages: 8-12)
This course guides students in creating narrative-driven art projects using non-digital materials. With a focus on storytelling, world-building, and character design, students will develop their artistic style while exploring meaningful themes.
National Art Competition
Grades: 1st-6th (Ages: 6-12)
This course assists students in honing the skills required to produce artwork for competitive submissions. Students engage in generating original concepts based on themes, enhancing their ideas through planning and revision, and creating thoughtful, polished final pieces.
Young Creative Artist
Grades: Kinder-2nd (Ages: 5-7.5)
Young Creative Artist encourages students to develop imagination, visual storytelling, and creative confidence through guided art-making. In this class, students practice building clear compositions, turning ideas into images, and experimenting with shapes, design details, and creative problem-solving.
Little Artist 2D + 3D
Grades: PreK-Kinder (Ages: 4-5)
Little Artist 2D+3D is designed to introduce our youngest students to the world of art through hands-on exploration of various materials and subject matter. This class fosters creativity, social interaction, and fine motor skill development in a fun and engaging classroom environment.
Digital Art Program

This course is designed to help students build crucial design skills and prepare for the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) Design program. Students will focus on developing a standout portfolio, experimenting with different design disciplines, and enhancing their creative abilities.
Digital Self-Publishing Children’s Book
Grades: 5th-8th (Ages: 10-14)
Digital Self-Publishing Children's Book is a unique course that guides the student throughout the entire process of creating their own book from start to finish. Students learn brainstorming tips & tricks to get started with their individual ideas, they develop characters and storylines through discussion with their teacher.
Digital 2D Art + 3D Modeling & 3D Printing
Grades: 3rd-8th (Ages: 8-14)
Digital Art 2D & 3D Modeling helps students advance their digital painting and design skills while exploring the fundamentals of 3D sculpting and model construction. Using programs such as Procreate and Nomad Sculpt, students work on creative projects that develop their understanding of form, volume, texture, color, light, and composition.

Digital Art & Design helps students advance their digital painting and design skills while tackling more complex projects. Students practice rendering form, volume, and texture, applying color theory, value, and light studies to create cohesive and visually engaging artwork.

Digital Art helps students develop foundational skills for creating artwork using professional digital tools. Students learn how to navigate digital art software, use brushes effectively, manage layers, and apply color intentionally while creating a variety of digital projects.
3D Sculpting & 3D Printing
Grades: 2nd-6th (Ages: 7-11)
This course offers an introduction to the world of 3D image and model creation. Using the Nomad Sculpt program, students will master the controls and core principles of 3D modeling through hands-on projects, with the added potential for 3D printing their creations.
Fashion Design
3rd-10th
Grades: 3rd-8th (Ages: 8-13)
Fashion 101 focuses on building foundational sewing and fashion design skills. Students learn how to safely operate a sewing machine, practice essential hand stitches, cut and handle fabric, sew straight seams, and press fabric properly.
Grades: 5th-10th (Ages: 10-16)
Fashion Design 102 builds on beginner sewing skills through hands-on projects. Students practice using the sewing machine, learn to read simple patterns, and create functional items like hair accessories, tote bags, pajama shorts, and leggings.
