NASA Langley Student Art Contest


The NASA Langley Student Art Contest is an annual event open to K-12 students across the United States. Participants are invited to submit one original artwork (painting, drawing, or digital image) inspired by a chosen theme. The contest awards a Grand Prize, as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for each grade level. Winners receive certificates and NASA exploration packages containing items such as posters, pens, patches, and lapel pins.

Song Bird Art Contest


The Song Bird Art Contest only accepts original hand-drawn artwork. Digital art and AI-generated pieces are not eligible. Contestants may use photos, videos, and artwork (including prior Song Bird Art submissions) for inspiration, but submissions that closely resemble any existing work will be disqualified.

Embracing Our Differences Art Exhibition


The Embracing Our Differences Art Exhibition is an international art competition open to high school students. Students are encouraged to submit one artwork reflecting themes of diversity, inclusivity, and social justice in categories such as painting, drawing, photography, digital art, or other artistic forms. Selected artworks will be displayed in an outdoor exhibition in Sarasota, Florida that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors. The chosen students and their schools will share a $2,000 cash prize to support art programs.

The Science Without Borders Challenge: International Student Art Contest


The Science Without Borders Challenge is an international art competition open to high school students between the ages of 11 and 19. The competition centers around a yearly marine conservation theme, and students are encouraged to submit artwork that creatively explores and reflects this theme. Artwork is judged on originality, quality, and thematic relevance. Students are divided into two age groups (11-14 and 15-19) for judging, and cash prizes are awarded to the top three entries in both categories: $500 (first place), $350 (second place), and $200 (third place). Winning artwork is featured in online exhibitions and promotional materials.

 

Eligibility for submission requires 2D artwork created with traditional media, including paint, pencil, marker, crayon, ink, felt, and oil.  Collage work using magazines, newspapers, or other non-original sources is not permitted. Additionally, digital art and photography are not eligible. Artists must be between the ages of 11 and 19.

David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation – Global Canvas Children’s Art Competition (Ages 12-16)


The DSWF visual art competition encourages students to submit artwork focused on environmental and wildlife conservation. Themes change annually and have recently included  biodiversity, endangered species, and global habitats. Individual or group submissions are accepted in various mediums (e.g., drawing, painting, collage, 3D art). Winners receive trophies, art supplies, and their work will be displayed at London's Natural History Museum.


Age Group: 16 and under
The categories will be judged in the following age group:
Ages 4-7 years
Ages 8-11 years
Ages 12-16 years

 

Sketch for Survival (Junior: 16 and under, Senior: 17+)

Sketch for Survival is an annual fundraising campaign that invites artists from across the globe to submit original artwork depicting a threatened species or natural habitat in our free competition. Participation is open to everyone, whether professional or amateur. A selection of 100 artworks from all submissions will be showcased alongside pieces from professional and celebrity artists during our autumn exhibition tour, featuring venues in London.

Doodle for Google (K-12)

Doodle for Google is an annual art competition open to students from kindergarten 12th grade. Participants are encouraged to design their own Google Doodle for a chance to have it showcased on Google.com, along with the opportunity to win scholarships and technology packages for themselves and schools. Parents, teachers, nonprofits, and after-school programs can submit artwork on behalf of K-12 students. Regardless of the submission method, the winning student’s school will receive a $50,000 technology grant. All participants must be enrolled in a school located in the U.S. (including homeschool), Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, freely associated states, or District of Columbia. This year, children of military personnel stationed abroad can also enter and will be judged alongside applicants from their home state.
