Our second week at camp was overflowing with creativity! From expressive self-portraits and bold designs in our Art Studio Workshops with our talented 7th–8th graders to the vibrant textures and playful forms in Color Me Clay! Creative Keepsakes with our imaginative 4th–6th graders, campers continued to bring their artistic visions to life. Here's a glimpse of more colorful memories from our summer of art!
An Artist's Life: Art Studio Workshops 7-8th
The second week was as successful as the first. The students painted a new still life with acrylic, learning various techniques such as color mixing, blending, underpainting, and more. It was a challenging task, but every student met the expectations. In addition to painting a still life, students were given side projects to explore acrylic painting. This allowed them to be more creative and pursue their own interests. Some leaned towards a more realistic interpretation, while others opted for a more stylized approach. Next week, which is the final week, we will return to sketching with the addition of watercolor, delving deeper into sketching techniques and learning how to work with watercolor, as it is quite different from acrylic.

Color Me Clay! Creative Keepsakes Camp 4-6th
Two weeks down! We've found our rhythm and created some whimsical, beautiful, and cool-looking pots, sculptures, and boxes. We also experimented with pipe cleaner sculptures and honed our design skills with slab-based boxes. We still have pinch pot piggy banks to create and a pencil holder to look forward to in the last week.
