Art & Design Camps (1st-8th)


Dates: 6/8-6/12
Pokemon Trainers Workshop (1st-5th)
Inspired by the creative world of Pokémon, this art camp invites young Trainers to explore mixed-media projects including layered 3D papercraft Pokémon cards, clay badge collections, painted paper lanterns, shrinky dink jewelry and keychains, wearable Pokémon ears and tails, Poké Ball–shaped dioramas, Trainer self-portraits, layered sand art, Pokémon suncatchers, custom clay Pokémon sculptures, themed slime creations, illustrated terrarium worlds, relief sculptures, clay beads, and fossil excavation and restoration.

Dates: 6/15-6/19
Anime & Comic (1st-5th)
In this action-packed camp, students will create an original comic from start to finish! Campers will storyboard their ideas, master brush inking techniques, and apply dynamic colors or tones to their pages. Alongside their finished book, artists will design stickers, bookmarks, and character banners while illustrating high-energy action scenes and reimagined covers for their favorite shows. It’s an immersive week of storytelling, professional illustration, and creative world-building.

Blindbox Design Lab (3rd-6th)
In this high-energy camp, students bring pop culture to life through a mix of digital sculpting, illustration, and hands-on crafting. Campers will design and paint Labubu-inspired masks, sculpt 3D anime and Sanrio-style characters, and create custom Mofusan patches. From 3D-printed keychains and digital models to miniature dioramas and travel-themed figure sets, artists will spend the week building a unique universe of professional-grade collectibles and limited-edition stickers.

Blindbox Design Lab (6th-8th)
Bring pop culture to life in this dynamic camp blending digital sculpting, illustration, and hands-on crafting. Students will design 3D-printed Labubu-style masks, sculpt anime and Sanrio characters in Nomad Sculpt, and create custom Mofusan patches. From painting acrylic keychains to building detailed miniature dioramas and limited-edition stickers, campers will spend the week producing a professional-grade collection of unique character art and collectibles.

Labubu Dream Studio (3rd-6th)
In this Labubu-inspired camp, students reimagine themselves as collectible characters through a mix of digital and traditional art. Campers will create personalized portraits, paint 3D-printed keychains, and craft custom patches, stickers, and posters. Using Nomad Sculpt, they’ll design 3D figurines and magical worlds, bringing them to life through detailed themed dioramas and a final animation project. It’s a creative week of character design and storytelling across multiple vibrant mediums.

Labubu Dream Studio (6th-8th)
Dive into the world of collectibles in this Labubu-inspired camp, where students reimagine themselves as custom characters through digital and traditional art. Campers will design 3D-printed keychains, craft felt patches and sparkling stickers, and use Nomad Sculpt to build original figurines and virtual worlds. From painting personalized portraits to constructing detailed themed dioramas and creating final animations, artists will master character design and storytelling across multiple vibrant mediums.

Ceramics Adventure Camp (1st-5th)
In this dynamic clay camp, students master ceramic techniques through three imaginative projects. Campers will build fantasy dwellings using pinch, coil, and slab methods while learning the fundamentals of wheel throwing from centering to sgraffito decoration. They will also sculpt personal room inspired art from slabs. This hands-on week blends technical skill building with creative expression, allowing artists to design, detail, and underglaze their own unique ceramic masterpieces.

Clay Creators Ceramics (6th-8th)
In this hands-on clay camp, students explore ceramic techniques through three creative projects. Campers will build imaginative fantasy houses using pinch, coil, and slab methods while learning the fundamentals of the potter’s wheel from centering to surface decoration. They will also sculpt personal room-inspired art using slabs and underglaze. This week blends technical skill building with artistic expression to help students design and detail their own unique ceramic masterpieces.

Cool Manga Design (3rd-6th)
Level up your art skills in this high-energy manga and webtoon camp! From sketching futuristic mechs and magical moments to designing "pop-out" action scenes, campers will dive headfirst into the world of cinematic storytelling. You’ll master everything from classic manga layouts and three-panel stories to the sleek, vertical scrolling style of manhwa. Whether you're illustrating intense city backdrops or expressive character heart-to-hearts, it’s a fast-paced week of pure creativity where your favorite stories come to life on the page!

Cool Manga Design (6th-8th)
Jump into the world of visual storytelling in this high-energy manga and webtoon camp! Students will design custom manga pages and three-panel stories while mastering "pop-out" action scenes and futuristic mechs. From expressive character heart-to-hearts to the sleek vertical scrolling style of manhwa, campers will learn to pace their stories and build cinematic emotion in every frame. It is a fast-paced week of pure creativity where your favorite comic worlds come to life!

Creative Storyteller Drawing & Painting (1st-5th)
In this imaginative camp, grades 1 through 5 will bring their stories to life through drawing, painting, and sculpture.

Unicorns, Dragons and Magical Creatures (1st-5th)
Unleash your imagination at our magical art camp, where campers bring fantastical worlds to life! Draw and paint mystical creatures like unicorns, dragons, and fairies, exploring enchanted forests, sparkling crystal landscapes, and sacred shrines. Design your own nature-inspired characters, from fairies in lanterns to elemental unicorns, and bring them into 3D by sculpting dragons and magical critters from foam clay. Every day is a new adventure in creativity, color, and imagination!

My Creative Storybook (1st-5th)
At this camp, students will explore creativity through drawing and painting as they bring their own stories to life. Campers will create multi-panel illustrations showing the beginning, middle, and end of a tale, design dynamic characters and comic-style scenes, and craft imaginative storybook visuals inspired by adventure and fantasy. Along the way, they will experiment with color, composition, and visual storytelling while developing their own original ideas. By the end of camp, each student will have a vibrant collection of artwork that brings their creative stories vividly to life.

My Creative Storybook (3rd-8th)
Get ready to bring your wildest tales to life in this epic storytelling and art adventure! Campers will master the art of the "cliffhanger" by crafting three-frame triptychs and designing high-energy pop-out manga panels. From sculpting deep-sea escapades with foam clay to painting mysterious portraits and "time-traveling" character scenes, every project is a new chapter. The week wraps up with intricate glass mural designs that turn your sketches into a cinematic masterpiece. It’s a week of pure imagination where your art does all the talking!

Intense Color Sketching Training (3rd-8th)
Dive into the world of color, light, and texture in our Intense Color Sketching camp! Students will master rendering a variety of materials, explore still lifes and animal portraits, and develop skills in hatching, shading, and color theory.

OCSA Prep Art & Design Summer Program
OCSA prep training is for 6th–8th graders applying for 7th or 9th grade at OCSA
The OCSA Prep Art & Design Summer Program is an intensive portfolio and skill development experience designed to prepare students for success in the Art & Design Conservatory at Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA).
This focused program helps young artists strengthen their technical foundations, develop original concepts, and build a competitive portfolio aligned with OCSA’s artistic standards. Through guided studio practice, project-based assignments, and personalized critiques, students refine their artistic voice while learning how to meet audition expectations with confidence. Students receive structured instruction in observational drawing, design principles, and creative problem-solving, while also gaining insight into what makes a portfolio stand out in a competitive arts admissions process.

Art Competition Summer Training

Scholastic Art & Writing | Sketch for Survival | Embrace Our Differences
The Art Competition Summer Training is designed to guide students through the complete creative process from concept development to final presentation while producing five competition ready artworks. Students will strengthen foundational skills in composition, color theory, perspective, and visual storytelling, explore a variety of traditional and mixed media techniques, and develop original concepts aligned with major art competition themes. The curriculum includes structured studio practice, technique demonstrations, individualized critiques, portfolio refinement, and guidance on writing artist statements and preparing professional submissions. By the end of the program, students will have a cohesive body of polished work ready for showcase, competition entry, and future academic portfolios.

Art Major Portfolio & Supplemental Portfolio Development
Grades 9-11
This 10-week summer training program is designed for art majors seeking to develop a strong portfolio or supplemental portfolio in both fine art and digital art. Participants will engage in an intensive, hands-on curriculum covering portrait and figure drawing, still life, mixed media drawing and painting, 3D sculpture, animal studies, and mural art. Through guided projects and expert instruction, students will refine their technical skills, explore diverse artistic mediums, and create a cohesive body of work that showcases their creativity and readiness for advanced studies or professional opportunities in the visual arts.
