Summer Camp 2023
The Artist Lab presents our Summer Art Camp!

During June-August
We will host Day camps that cover a variety of weekly topics. From Fine Art, Digital Design, Sculpting, Sewing and more!
​
Enroll your student in an opportunity to explore their creativity, guided by our talented instructors.
​
There will be different projects every week of Summer Camp, students will create 1-2 projects throughout the duration of the 5 days. K-8 classes (unless otherwise noted)
​
Some weeks have 2 options to choose from! Students will only be able to choose 1 option per week.

9:00am - 2:30pm
(There will be time for students to have lunch and breaks throughout the camp time. Food/Drink is not provided by the studio. We recommend to bring a no-fridge/microwave ready foods, as our studio does not have a kitchen.)

Week 1 (6/5-6/9)
Character Design + 3D Sculpture
Focus: Cute Animal Characters
Students will design a unique animal character of their choosing. Instructors will guide students through the creative process and help them illustrate their designs. Afterwards, they will learn how to sculpt their characters using 3D materials.


Week 2 (6/12-6/16)
Option A: Felt Accessory Design
Focus: Pikachu, Deer, Apple, and Animal Bear Purse
Using felt and a variety of different notions, students will learn how to sew by hand, some unique creatures and accessories!

Option B: Creative Art Drawing & Painting
Focus: Fairies, woodland creatures, and fairytale cottages
Students will complete 2 projects in this camp! Creating unique fantastical fairies and woodland creatures, and then creating the homes that they live in.


Week 3 (6/19-6/23)
Option A: Children's Book Design
Focus: Dragons
Create your own mini-book! Students will create a fantastical short story about dragons and illustrate them! Learn how to bind your own book in this unique camp!


Week 3 (6/19-6/23)
Option B: Digital Art Design (Grade 3 and up)
Focus: Sticker Sheet, Popsicle, Bioluminescence, and Portraits
Students will learn how to use Procreate on the iPad and understand how to create images using the Apple Pencil.


Week 4 (6/26-6/30)
Option A: Acrylic Canvas Painting (Grade 3 and up)
Focus: Camping and starry night sky
Illustrate on canvas! Learn how to illustrate and paint on canvas. Students will learn painting fundamentals whilst creating unique projects.


Week 4 (6/26-6/30)
Option B: Creative Art Drawing & Painting
Focus: Balloons
Up and away! Students will create projects based on the novelty of balloons. Rise up in the air and create magical hot air balloons. Turn animals you know and love into these tubular creatures!


Week 5 (7/3-7/7)
Option A: Character Design + 3D Sculpture
Focus: Witches & Warlocks
Students will design a unique magical wizard of their choosing. Instructors will guide students through the creative process and help them illustrate their designs. Afterwards, they will learn how to sculpt their characters using 3D materials.


Week 5 (7/3-7/7)
Option B: Creative Art Drawing & Painting
Focus: Still Life/Person
Create images that pop out of the frame! Play with perspective and illustrate images that come to life.


Week 6 (7/10-7/14)
Option B: Children's Book Design
Focus: The Future
Create your own mini-book! Students will create a fantastical short story about the future! Will you illustrate a super futuristic world? Or will you illustrate your own future when you grow up? Learn how to bind your own book in this unique camp!


Week 7 (7/17-7/21)
Option A: Digital 2D Animation (Grade 3 and up)
Focus: Gifs
What's more exciting than images that can move! Learn how to digitally animate your own unique drawings. Students will create simple 2D animations and learn how frame their own visual story.


Week 7 (7/17-7/21)
Project B: Creative Art Drawing & Painting
Focus: Fire & Water
Illustrate objects made of fire and water. What will you create with these opposing elements?


Week 8 (7/24-7/28)
Option A: Character Design + 3D Sculpture
Focus: Music Genres
Create your own musical persona! Design characters based off of music genres (i.e. rock, pop, electric, etc). Instructors will guide students through the creative process and help them illustrate their designs. Afterwards, they will learn how to sculpt their characters using 3D materials.


Week 8 (7/24-7/28)
Option B: Creative Art Drawing & Painting
Focus: Humanoid & Robotic Animals
Design unique creatures in this illustration class! Humanize and roboticize animals, create unique and fantastical characters.


Week 9 (7/31-8/4)
Specialty Camp: Teddy Bear Sewing (Grade 3 and up)
This specialty class will teach students how to design and sew their own teddy bear. They will learn sewing fundamentals, how to read/follow a pattern and create their own plush.


Week 10 (8/7-8/11)
Specialty Camp: Intense Sketching (Grade 3 and up)
This specialty class will teach students the fundamentals of sketching. How to break down images into forms and shapes. Improve students observational understanding of the world around them and guide them through sketching essentials.


Week 11 (8/14-8/18)
Specialty Camp: 3D Modeling & Printing (Grade 3 and up)
This specialty class will teach students the fundamentals of sketching. How to break down images into forms and shapes. Improve students observational understanding of the world around them and guide them through sketching essentials.
